CA Why not collaborates with great number of domestic, regional, and world organizations, and institutions. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, CA Why not, is one of the founders of the coalition of civic organizations against Constitutional Discrimination, Jednakost (Equality). Together with Transparency International in BiH, The Center for Civic Initiatives (CCI), CPI, SOC, ACIPS, it represents one of the leading organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina active in the field of transparency, government openness and accountability, civic activism and new technologies. We are the organizers of one of the most important regional conferences Point conference with focus on new technologies and political accountability in the region.

This conference is one of the activities of ACTION SEE Network (Accountability, Transparency and Institutional Openness Network in South-East Europe), organized in cooperation with Metamorphosis Foundation (Macedonia), Center for Democratic  Transition CDT (Montenegro), CRTA (Center for Research, Transparency and Accountability) (Serbia) and MJAFT (Albania).

Together with MySociety and Access Info, we are a part of the network that has worked, and continues to work, on localization of “whatdotheyknow” portal for free access to information – Alavateli project (alavateli.org). As members of the ACTION SEE Network, and in partnership with TechSoup Foundation, we are also responsible for administering the regional portal communityboostr.org, dedicated to political accountability and transparency and promotion of the organization active in this field in the SEE region.

CA Why not is one of the leading organizations in BiH and the region, showing active daily engagement for over 12 years. During this period, our programs have been acknowledged and supported by great number of international organizations and institutions. Currently, there are over 10 people at our organization, who work on different projects and programs funded by our partners, including NED, Open Society BiH, American Embassy in Sarajevo, and TechSoup Foundation. Our partners have so far supported our projects dealing with political accountability, and are dedicated to continue funding our projects in the upcoming election cycle and 2014 – 2018 mandate.

CA Why not has written diverse policy paper, in the field of government accountability, political accountability, constitutional reform, education, demilitarization and human rights.

Citizen association “Why not” is an organization whose goal is to contribute to creation of safe, healthy, active, efficient and responsible society in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole, focusing on both government accountability and engagement of citizens and civil society. In its work, CA “Why not” has been cooperating with several civil society organizations, institutions and individuals from both BiH and the region. Our main work is done in the area of political accountability, use of new technologies in civic engagement and better governance, civic activism, regional demilitarization and support for socially and politically engaged youth and cultural activism.

The association of citizens “Why Not” is a registered legal entity entered in the register of civic associations in FBiH Ministry of Justice from January 9th 2001 under No. 56, Book 1 of the register, with registration number 03-054-992/97-2.

The organization consists of several teams covering different segments of our work: Research team, Web-team (journalists and web-portals editors), Public relations manager, Administration and finances team, Project management team (project coordination and public campaigns implementation).
